Hickman Temple
Hickman Temple is an historic church at 50th and Baltimore in West Philadelphia. In 2017, the facade on the east side of the church began to separate from the main structure, forcing the congregation to evacuate the church and worship elsewhere. Kathy Dowdell joined the church and community effort to save the building and assisted in a plan to stabilize the structure so that the congregation could return while plans are made for more permanent repairs. Steel supports were added to brace the facade, and gaps in the roof were sealed. In September 2018, services were finally able to resume in Hickman Temple.
