New / Old Kitchen

A young couple with a toddler and a limited budget wanted to redo their kitchen.  They were very fond of some of the existing details – original tilework, an older sink – but needed modern functions and amenities.  We helped with basic planning, and then Ikea and their contractor did the rest. Most of the existing subway tile was saved; new cabinets, appliances, and lighting were installed. The window over the kitchen sink was made slightly smaller by raising the sill, so that the old-fashioned sink would fit below. The clients managed to complete this work within their modest budget and love their “new/old” kitchen.
